A qualification course for C-category football coaches, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Youth in Idlib Governorate in cooperation with the Football Technical Committee and the Syrian Arab Football Federation, kicked off today, Tuesday, at the Idlib Municipal Stadium, with the participation of 24 trainees.
The course lasts for 14 days and combines theoretical lectures in the hall with practical lessons on the pitch, aiming to focus on the fundamentals of football, teach basic skills, and build the coach's personality.
The course supervisor, Asian referee Beshir Al-Aboud, clarified that trainees will undergo practical and theoretical exams at the end, emphasizing that the topics presented represent a step towards qualifying coaches who possess theoretical and practical expertise, and obtaining the basic certificate that qualifies them to later advance to levels (B and A). For his part, assistant instructor Safwan Qara indicated that the program combines both theoretical and practical aspects, where lectures include enhancing trainees' knowledge in training methodology, effective communication means, and physical fitness, while field applications cover passing, receiving, and first-touch skills.
Trainee Ziad Saghir pointed out that the course provided an opportunity to learn and gain experience after a long period of absence, and to benefit from the technical and practical information provided by the instructors. This course comes within the framework of qualifying training cadres in Idlib Governorate and raising the level of local coaches according to the approved Asian standards, thereby contributing to the development of the Syrian football reality.
