Several international companies specializing in the cement and building materials industry are seeking to explore investment opportunities in the Syrian market and discuss the potential for establishing production projects and transferring modern technologies, during their participation in the "Cement Industry and Concrete Mix in Syria 2026" conference and exhibition, held at the Damascus Fair City.
The General Manager of the international "Silica" Group, Hazem Al-Ali, emphasized in a statement to SANA on Friday the importance of the Syrian market as a promising opportunity to expand the group's activities, noting that the expected volume of demand encourages the group to study opportunities to expand its operations in Syria.
For his part, Hazem Nour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian company "Arisco" for Industrial Contracting, believed that Syria's needs for cement exceed current production capacities, necessitating additional investments in clinker grinding plants and the establishment of integrated production lines.
For his part, Mitcan Cuk, representative of the Turkish company "Sentek," confirmed that his company looks forward to contributing to the modernization of existing facilities in Syria and establishing new factories relying on advanced technologies, pointing out that the exhibition constitutes an opportunity for direct communication with investors.
The activities of the conference and exhibition, organized by the "Sim Tek" Group in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Industry, launched yesterday, Thursday, with the participation of around 50 local, regional, and international companies from nine countries working in sectors related to the cement and concrete mix industry.
