Israel launches airstrikes and mechanized incursions in southern Lebanon
Israeli forces conduct airstrikes and artillery shelling near Kafr Shouba despite the June agreement.

The Israeli army launched airstrikes, artillery shelling, and explosions in southern Lebanon on Friday, coinciding with the advance of military vehicles towards the outskirts of the border town of Kafr Shouba. The Lebanese News Agency confirmed that the Israeli air force targeted the town of Al Mansouri in the Sidon district, while artillery targeted the outskirts of Bint Jbeil and the valleys of Sarbineh and Zebqine.

In the same context, Israeli forces carried out two large and simultaneous explosions in the Nabatieh district, specifically in the towns of Kafr Tabin and Zoutar al-Sharqiya. Artillery shelling also targeted the Jarmaq area in the Jezzine district and the outskirts of Kafr Shouba, where the agency reported the advance of a bulldozer escorted by two tanks and other vehicles towards the southern outskirts of the town.

For its part, an Israeli drone dropped a sound bomb on the outskirts of the town of Khiam, with no immediate reports of casualties. Since March 2, the Israeli attacks have resulted in 4,389 dead and 12,424 injured, according to an official statistic released by the Lebanese government on Monday. The attacks continue despite the signing of a gradual withdrawal agreement on June 26.

The agency noted that Israel continues its attacks despite the agreement stipulating the deployment of the Lebanese army, while it still occupies Lebanese areas it controlled during recent wars or for decades.
