Israel raises security alert level 11 days before elections
Israel raises security alert level ahead of potential escalation, with multiple front indicators before October 27 elections.

Israel has raised its security alert level 11 days before the general elections scheduled for October 27. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority stated on Friday that the alert level has been raised in recent days in anticipation of a potential security escalation.

The Authority clarified that the Israeli military is closely monitoring developments and describes this period as sensitive, given indicators and developments on various fronts. No confirmed information is available regarding Iran or Hezbollah's intention to launch an attack on Israel at this stage.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security meeting on Thursday evening with top officials in the security establishment. Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir warned of the possibility of escalation, with Zamir stating that the likelihood of escalation has increased in light of repeated warnings on various fronts and the sensitivity of this period.

The region is witnessing ongoing confrontations. On March 2, clashes began between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah, resulting in the deaths of 4,389 people and the injury of 12,424 others, according to a statistic issued on October 12. On June 26, Beirut and Tel Aviv reached a "framework formula" agreement under US sponsorship, which stipulates a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the deployment of the Lebanese army there, although Israel continues its attacks in southern Lebanon.
