Israeli Army Demolishes Two Homes, Clears Land in Nablus
Israeli forces demolish two homes and clear land in Deir Blout, Nablus, citing lack of permits.

The Israeli army forces demolished two Palestinian homes and cleared land in the Nablus governorate in the northern occupied West Bank on Thursday. The forces, accompanied by bulldozers, breached the Bab al-Marj area east of Deir Blout town and began demolition and clearing operations that are still ongoing.

In a statement to Anadolu, Jihad Yassin from the Deir Blout municipality clarified that the targeted homes consist of one with one floor and another with three floors, located in an area close to a military checkpoint. He pointed out that Israeli forces cleared water lines in the area under the pretext of "building without a permit."

Yassin added that about 10 homes in the town received demolition notices in recent periods, estimating the total number of notices at around 100. The targeted homes are located in Area C, according to the Oslo II Agreement divisions of 1995, which are under full Israeli control and constitute about 60 percent of the West Bank's area.

For his part, Palestinians are prohibited from making any changes in Area C without an Israeli permit that is almost impossible to obtain. Since October 2023, the Israeli army and settlers have intensified their attacks, which included demolishing homes and structures, displacing residents, and expanding settlements, in addition to killings, arrests, and clearing agricultural land.
