Israeli Army Targets 6 Areas in Southern Lebanon with Artillery Shelling and Explosions
Israeli army targets six areas in southern Lebanon with artillery shelling, explosions, and gunfire.

The Israeli army targeted six areas in southern Lebanon on Monday through artillery shelling, explosions, and gunfire, continuing its aggression against the country. The Lebanese News Agency reported that intense artillery shelling targeted the area around Naba’ of Ibl al-Saqi village in the Marjayoun district in the early hours of Monday, with more than 10 shells landing.

For its part, artillery shelling targeted the towns of Al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun in the Sidon district in the morning, while Israeli forces fired machine guns towards the Al-Hajjar and Al-Salouqi valleys between the Marjayoun, Bint Jbeil, and Nabatieh districts. The agency also noted that Israeli forces carried out explosions in the town of Bani Hayyan in the Marjayoun district.

These attacks come after technical military talks between Lebanon and Israel, held on October 20 and 21 in Tampa, Florida, under US sponsorship. The talks ended without announcing any tangible progress or issuing a joint statement, amid reports of agreement to continue meetings, amid ongoing disagreements over the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the disarmament of "Hezbollah."

Despite the "framework formula" agreed upon by both sides on June 26 under US sponsorship, Israel continued its military aggression against Lebanon. The aggression since March 2 has resulted in the deaths of at least 4,389 people and injured 12,428 others, in addition to displacing more than one million people. Israel penetrated approximately 10 kilometers deep into Lebanese territory during the recent aggression.
