The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 18 people were killed and 33 others were wounded in various ways as a result of a series of Israeli airstrikes and intensive artillery shelling that targeted villages and towns in southern Lebanon during the last hours.
According to official statements issued by the ministry, this new wave of attacks raised the cumulative toll of victims of the Israeli raids that have been ongoing since March 2 to 3,912 dead, in addition to the injury of 11,873, in light of the continued monitoring of missing persons under the rubble due to the destruction of inhabited houses.
Aerial Massacres
Israeli warplanes and drones launched a series of violent raids that extended from midnight until dawn on Friday, directly targeting residential neighborhoods and civilian structures in the Nabatieh district.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that hostile aircraft committed mobile massacres that led to the death of 18 people on inhabited houses in the towns of Sharqiyah, Kafr Sir, Haruf, Kafr Gouz, Nabatieh Al-Fouqa, Zabdeen, Toul, Jibshit and Al-Qusaiba, in conjunction with the artillery shelling of the center of the Sisters neighborhood and the University neighborhood, while an enemy drone targeted a motorcycle near the Dweir municipality building.
Assassin's ambush
On the other hand, Hezbollah confirmed in two separate military statements that its fighters spotted an Israeli force consisting of an armored platoon and an infantry platoon trying to infiltrate and advance towards the northern side of the strategic Ali al-Taher Plateau in the Kafr Tibnit area to tighten control over it.
The party's military media explained that the fighters lured the invading force into a tight ambush they called the "kill zone", where it was targeted by guided missiles that hit 3 Merkava tanks directly, which led to its destruction and ignition, followed by intensive artillery and missile shelling that targeted a second Israeli force that tried to advance to withdraw and evacuate the dead and wounded from the site of the first ambush.
In response to the fierce ground battles, Israeli media admitted the failure of the occupation army in its attempt to control the heights of Ali Al-Taher in the Nabatieh district, and the forces stumbled under the weight of anti-armor missile strikes.
Hebrew sources revealed that 4 Israeli soldiers were killed among the advancing forces, confirming that among the dead was a prominent battalion commander, in addition to a number of wounded and military vehicles were injured and their wounded were evacuated under direct fire, which represents an Israeli departure from the atmosphere of regional calm that followed the signing of the recent US-Iranian understandings.
Negotiation Map
Israeli Occupation Army Spokesperson Avichai Adri published a field map revealing the position of Israeli forces in a security zone extending for about 10 kilometers inside Lebanese territory under the pretext of removing threats.
On the other hand, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nabih Berri, clarified the commitment of Lebanon and Hizbullah to a comprehensive ceasefire as long as Israel adheres to it, in conjunction with President Joseph Aoun chairing a military meeting in Baabda to provide the Lebanese negotiating delegation with directives based on the final cessation of aggression and a complete withdrawal to the international borders.
