The Israeli occupation continued its attacks on towns and areas in southern Lebanon yesterday evening Saturday, targeting several of them with airstrikes, artillery shelling, and explosions, coinciding with operations involving sweeping fire with machine guns.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli occupation aircraft flew at low altitudes over the skies of Sidon and its surroundings, targeting the town of Al-Mansouri with an airstrike, as well as a mosque in the town of Al-Amiriya south of the city.
The agency added that the occupation's artillery shelled the area between the towns of Zoutar Al-Sharqiya and Mifdoun, Wadi Al-Hajjar from the side of Al-Ghanduriya town, in addition to the town of Beit Yahoun and the outskirts of Barshita in Nabatieh Governorate.
Explosions in Khiam and Houla
In the Marjeyoun District, occupation forces carried out an explosion in the town of Khiam, coinciding with a sweeping operation using machine guns towards the town, while Israeli artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of the town of Houla.
Occupation forces also carried out explosions in the towns of Barshita in Bint Jbeil District and Talousa in Marjeyoun District, and their sound was heard in wide areas of southern Lebanon.
Targeting Sarbineh and hindering deployment
An Israeli Merkava tank targeted the outskirts of the town of Sarbineh with a shell, while occupation forces carried out an explosion in Wadi Al-Ghadir located between the towns of Sarbineh and Haris in Bint Jbeil District.
Lebanon and Israel signed a framework agreement on June 26 last year, stipulating the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from areas they infiltrated in southern Lebanon, coinciding with the deployment of the Lebanese Army. However, continuous Israeli attacks and shelling and bulldozing operations continue to hinder the completion of the army's deployment and the return of residents to their villages.
