Jordan condemned, on Thursday, the Houthi attack that targeted King Fahd International Airport in the Saudi city of Dammam, considering this military action a blatant assault on the sovereignty, security, and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This attack, which occurred on Wednesday evening, resulted in the death of two people and injured others, prompting the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue an official statement condemning this "brutal aggression."
For its part, a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that targeting the airport, civilians, and civil and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia constitutes a "blatant violation of international law." The ministry emphasized "Jordan's absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia," affirming its full support for all steps taken by Riyadh to protect its security, stability, capabilities, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
In the same context, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced on Thursday the details of the victims and injured in the attack that targeted the airport in the eastern part of the country. The authority confirmed the death of two individuals, a citizen and a resident of Indian nationality, while eight others were injured, including a citizen and a resident of Indian nationality, two Yemenis, two Bangladeshis, and a Nepali resident.
The authority noted that the injuries of the victims ranged from "minor to severe," and they are receiving medical care in hospitals. The aggression also caused material damage currently being assessed. The authority did not specify the nature of the aggression or the perpetrator, while the Houthi group has been targeting Saudi Arabia with missiles and drones for some time.
The Yemeni Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy added that it destroyed seven drones on Wednesday, including one heading to the southern region of Saudi Arabia, in addition to six drones destroyed in the Medina and Eastern regions. Military escalation by the Houthi group against Saudi Arabia has been ongoing since July 2026, coinciding with escalating battles between the group and government forces in Yemen.
