Justice Minister: Protests are a popular and legal response to Israeli aggression
Justice Minister Mazhar Al-Aweis condemned Israeli incursions in Daraa and Quneitra, affirming Syria's unity.

Justice Minister Mazhar Al-Aweis affirmed that the protests that took place in several provinces today, Friday, represent a clear popular and legal response condemning Israeli aggression against Syria and its incursions in Daraa and Quneitra.

For his part, the minister stated in a post on the "X" platform that the large-scale protests constitute a clear national message confirming that Syria will remain one united country, emphasizing that all attempts to sow discord will shatter in the face of Syrian awareness and cohesion.

The minister added that these protests represent an explicit condemnation of the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces, the latest of which was the cowardly targeting of an unarmed civilian with special needs in a crime that blatantly violates human values.

The steadfastness of the people and justice

Mazhar Al-Aweis stressed that the steadfastness of the Syrian people and the cohesion of its sons remain an impregnable barrier to protect Syrian land and its sovereignty, noting that justice and the rule of law will remain the reference from which we derive strength and legitimacy to defend our rights in all forums.

Protest rallies in the provinces

Several provinces witnessed protest rallies earlier today condemning Israeli incursions and aggression in Daraa and Quneitra, with participation from residents, relatives of victims, and detainees arrested by occupation forces during their incursions in southern Syria.

Yesterday, Thursday, a young man with a disability was killed by Israeli occupation forces during an incursion in the village of Jumla in western Daraa countryside, as part of the occupation forces' continued violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions and raids on civilian homes.

External condemnation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates had condemned in the strongest terms on the 18th of the current month the escalation of Israeli occupation incursions in Quneitra and Daraa, considering it a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and a threat to the security and safety of citizens.
