Two Saudi children, Osama Al-Humaidi (11 years old) and Maria Al-Nathiri (8 years old), experienced attending a live football match away from screens during the first round of the Kings League MENA in the Middle East and North Africa region, held at the Kol Arena in Riyadh.
This initiative resulted from a collaboration between the Saudi team "Rising Peaks" and the Sand Association to support children with cancer. Content creator Abdulrahman Al-Shahri, the team's president, met the children in the hospital and promised to fulfill their dream. Al-Shahri managed to grant both wishes—meeting again and attending the match—in a single step.
Abdulrahman Al-Shahri noted that he thought of fulfilling both wishes simultaneously, allowing the children to cheer for the team directly from inside the stadium. The children participated in the live broadcast, interacted with the match events, and contributed to the dice-throwing segment that determines the number of players for the second half.
For his part, Wael Al-Fayez, the league's executive director, emphasized that a key feature of the league is the close bond between team presidents and their fans. He added that the joy overwhelming the children embodies the positive impact of sports, and this bond extends beyond the boundaries of the pitch.
The visit of the two children culminated in the victory of the "Rising Peaks" team in their match. Osama and Maria joined the team's celebrations with the players and fans after the final whistle, following Osama's prior prediction of the team's victory.
