Kuwait and Yemen Condemn Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia
Kuwait and Yemen renew solidarity with Saudi Arabia and condemn ballistic missile attempts targeting Mecca and Medina.

The State of Kuwait strongly condemned, on Sunday, the repeated attacks by the Houthi militia on several areas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, renewing its solidarity with and support for all measures aimed at preserving its security and stability.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on the X platform that the attempt to target the holy cities of Mecca and Medina with two ballistic missiles constitutes a blatant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites, a disregard for their religious status, an affront to the feelings of Muslims, a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, and a breach of international law.

Gulf and Arab Solidarity

For its part, the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that the Houthi militia’s attacks represent a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability, emphasizing that endangering the cities of Mecca and Medina, their residents, and their visitors violates the sanctity of holy sites and provokes the feelings of Muslims worldwide.

The Ministry added that these attacks are an extension of an aggressive policy that has long targeted the Ma’ashiq Palace, Aden and Al-Rayyan airports, residential neighborhoods, and displacement camps in Taiz, Lahij, and Marib within Yemen, revealing the Houthi militia’s disregard for civilian lives and its threat to the security of Yemen and its neighbors.

Protecting Sovereignty and Security

The Ministry renewed Yemen’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, and its support for the measures taken in accordance with international law to protect its sovereignty, security, holy sites, and the safety of its citizens and residents, affirming that the security of both countries is indivisible.

Saudi Civil Defense announced yesterday that fragments from the interception of two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi militia toward Mecca and Medina had fallen. The Houthi militia continues its attacks on Saudi Arabia, amid a wave of Arab and Islamic condemnations of the strikes targeting areas containing holy sites in Mecca and Medina and civilian neighborhoods, with calls for a firm international stance to halt these attacks and mitigate their impact on regional security and stability.
