The Latakia Chamber of Tourism launched today, Thursday, the tourism certificate and official identity for owners of tourism establishments meeting membership conditions for 2026, in a move aimed at affirming their professional status and enhancing their presence before official authorities, institutions, and local and international companies.
The Chamber's President, Samer al-Masri, clarified that the certificate was issued with a different visual identity model, including technical identification elements via a QR code, which facilitates verification of its authenticity and highlights the expertise of workers in the sector. He pointed out that the certificate grants the holder a social status and allows supervisory authorities to ensure that establishments meet annual licensing requirements.
For his part, Chamber member Hashem Ma'la highlighted the importance of the certificate as an identification card that safeguards the rights of establishment owners, noting that it has become a tourism registry that enables benefiting from privileges that facilitate travel and movement within and outside Syria.
Al-Masri added that the Chamber's role involves organizing tourism work in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and working to achieve a sustainable tourism season in Latakia that ensures activity continues in summer and winter, thereby supporting professional recognition for owner members.
