The activities of the "With You" medical campaign, implemented by the Union of Syrian Doctors and Pharmacists in France (UMPSF), in cooperation with the French organization "Mihad", kicked off today, Monday, at Al-Hasakah National Hospital, as part of the practical program of the Syrian-French Medical Conference aimed at developing the skills of health staff.
The campaign includes scientific lectures and training workshops in various specialties, with the participation of specialist doctors, residents, and nursing and technical staff working in the hospital, thereby enabling the enhancement of practical skills, reviewing and evaluating medical cases, and determining appropriate treatment options.
Conference Activities
Al-Hasakah Health Director Dr. Khaled Al-Khaled told SANA that the campaign comes as a continuation of the activities of the Syrian-French Medical Conference held in Deir Ezzor on October 16 and 17, and aims to train medical staff on scientific developments and discuss medical cases reviewed at the hospital during the past period, thereby contributing to their evaluation, follow-up, and determination of treatment methods.
For his part, Dr. Ziad Al-Eissa, head of the "Mihad" organization, stated that the participating teams began implementing the scientific and practical aspects of the conference after completing its theoretical sessions, through medical campaigns in the governorates of Al-Hasakah, Deir Ezzor, and Raqqa.
Workshops and Diverse Specialties
Al-Eissa pointed out that today's activities at Al-Hasakah National Hospital included workshops in the specialties of surgery, intensive care, neurological and chest diseases, first aid, and emergencies, and involved examining several patients, performing surgical operations, and training staff on some modern techniques.
He noted that field work allows medical teams to understand the nature of medical cases in the region and the needs of health institutions, which helps determine the priorities of medical support in the coming stages, in coordination with the Al-Hasakah Health Directorate.
Wide Participation and Continuation of Activities
The Syrian-French Medical Conference began last Friday at the Badia Al-Sham Hotel in Deir Ezzor, with the participation of more than 800 doctors and specialists from inside and outside Syria. The conference program includes 160 lectures and peer-reviewed scientific papers, in addition to workshops and a medical campaign lasting until next Wednesday, which includes providing medical consultations and performing free surgical operations for residents of the Eastern Region.
The medical campaign started its activities yesterday in Raqqa, and included performing surgical operations for children with disabilities.
