Legal session to simplify document issuance for returnees from Al-Hol in Al-Bab
A legal session in Al-Bab aimed at simplifying official document issuance for families returning from Al-Hol camp.

The "Sourya Steps" Foundation, in cooperation with the Civil Affairs Department, organized an awareness session providing legal support in Al-Bab, eastern Aleppo countryside. The session aimed to guide families returning from Al-Hol camp on the procedures for obtaining official documents and registering civil status records. These measures contribute to facilitating the social and educational integration of families and ensuring their full legal rights.

Hiyam Haj Ali, activities coordinator for the returnees support project at "Sourya Steps" Foundation, stated that the session was attended by Ali Abd al-Salam, the civil affairs official in Al-Bab, to support approximately 18 returnees. She confirmed that the project is implemented in the governorates of Aleppo, Raqqa, and Deir Ezzor. It includes vocational training and qualification for 16 beneficiaries, social integration activities for 16 children, and specialized legal consultations to register marriage and birth certificates and civil records.

For her part, Warda Mustafa, a returnee from Al-Hol camp, emphasized the importance of these awareness meetings in simplifying procedures and answering legal inquiries regarding the issuance of identities and documents for her children. She noted that clarifying the required steps helps overcome procedural obstacles, allowing children to enroll in schools and access basic services.

The session falls within the framework of service and humanitarian activities aimed at supporting returning families and strengthening community stability in the Aleppo countryside. The past months of July and August saw the organization of legal support sessions and rehabilitation and service initiatives to assist returning families and residents in various areas of the governorate.
