"Life Archive" Exhibition Recovers Stories of a Thousand Victims in Gaza
An exhibition in Gaza documents the lives of 1,000 victims, preserving their stories beyond mere statistics.

The "Antold Palestine" team launched the "Life Archive" exhibition in the Gaza Strip on Sunday to document the stories of a thousand Palestinians killed during the war, restoring their faces and dreams rather than reducing them to numbers.

The exhibition features images and human stories that recall the features and memories of the victims, initiated by the team with support from the Abdul Mohsin Al-Qattan Foundation and in collaboration with the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, to preserve the details of their lives through family testimonies.

For his part, Syndicate Secretary-General Ahd Farwana stated that the exhibition confirms that behind every victim is a story, a family, and unfulfilled dreams, noting that displaying the images helps reinforce the Palestinian narrative before the world.

Journalist Wafa Abu Hajaj added that the team completed the archiving of a thousand stories and launched an electronic website named "Life Archive," which gathers the victims' stories through the accounts of their relatives and friends.

She pointed out that the goal goes beyond recording names to documenting daily life, emphasizing the importance of keeping the stories of journalists killed while covering the war present in memory.

For her part, journalist Shorouq Shahin said the exhibition recalls colleagues who worked with them, such as Hiba Al-Abdala, who was killed with her daughter in Khan Younis, to remind the world that the victims are humans with experiences.

Shahin clarified that the archive presents the victims as humans with names and dreams, not just numbers added to the war toll, according to the accounts of those close to them.

Shahin continued that the presence of journalists' stories within the archive serves as a reminder that the victims were people connected to others through relationships, memories, and daily life.

Despite the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025, Israel has continued its attacks on the Strip, resulting in the killing of 1,551 Palestinians and injuring 5,573 others as of Sunday.

The war since October 2023 has resulted in the killing of more than 74,000 Palestinians and the injury of over 175,000, along with destruction affecting approximately 90 percent of civil infrastructure.
