The second edition of the Bamex 2026 Defense and Security Exhibition and Conference will launch in the Malian capital, Bamako, on November 9, with broad international participation, following its first edition last year which included Turkish defense industrial companies. The exhibition will run until November 13 and is organized by the Turkish company "Zeki Beck Defense," under the patronage of the Malian Presidency and Ministry of Defense, at the Bamako Exhibition and Conference Center.
Bamex 2026, which has become one of the most important defense and security gatherings on the African continent, takes on a broader international character this year, with defense companies from several countries participating, notably Turkey, China, Germany, and Sudan. Delegations from the Turkish Ministry of National Defense and the Presidency of Defense Industries will also participate, and it is expected to attract high-level military and official delegations from more than 40 African countries.
The exhibition features the latest defense and security technologies, alongside a "Field Demonstrations Day" program that allows participating companies to showcase their products and systems practically in the field, enabling military and official delegations to directly observe the performance of the displayed technologies. Turkey is represented at the exhibition by more than 20 prominent defense companies, including Baykar, Aselsan, Roketsan, Skydagger, and Bronutar, alongside the Presidency of Defense Industries.
The organization of the exhibition comes as the changing defense and security needs of the Sahel region gain increasing international importance, bringing together defense technologies for various countries and the region's needs under one roof. The requirements of regional countries in areas such as counter-terrorism, border security, reconnaissance, surveillance, communications, and unmanned systems represent promising opportunities for cooperation with defense industry manufacturers.
The exhibition is expected to highlight unmanned aerial vehicles and counter-UAV systems, electro-optical technologies, tactical communication systems, border security, armored land vehicles, weapons and ammunition, and personal protective equipment, reflecting a trend toward enhancing joint defense capabilities in the region.
