SDF commander Mazloum Abdi confirmed that the file of the integration of the "Syrian Democratic Forces" and the "Autonomous Administration" in Syrian institutions came at the forefront of the talks that brought him together with the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, and the US Special Presidential Envoy, Tom Barak, in addition to discussing ways to support stability and the political path in Syria.
The meeting took place late on Tuesday evening in Erbil, according to Hawar News Agency, which is close to the SDF, and after the meeting, Abdi said in a post on the "X" platform that the meeting dealt with a number of files, foremost of which are the steps in place to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Autonomous Administration into the Syrian government, in addition to following up on the implementation of agreements to enhance the political track and stability.
Abdi pointed out that the discussions also included supporting counter-terrorism efforts and advancing the path of a comprehensive political solution in Syria, in order to ensure the participation of all components in the government and shape the future of the country, he said.
The SDF commander pointed to what he described as the supportive role played by the Kurdistan Region in promoting regional stability and supporting dialogue between the various parties in order to serve security and peace in the region.
Mazloum Abdi visits Italy and France
Abdi arrived in Italy on Wednesday, June 17, on a visit aimed at holding a series of meetings with European officials, as part of a diplomatic tour related to the Syrian file and security developments in the region, according to the Hawar news agency, which is close to the SDF.
According to the agency, Abdi is scheduled to head to France later after his meetings in Italy, as part of a European tour that includes discussing a number of political and security issues related to Syria.
According to the agency, the agenda of the visit includes discussing ways to enhance security stability in Syria and the region, in addition to following up on the file of understandings related to the process of integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces into Syrian government institutions, in the context of ongoing political and security discussions on the future of administrative and military arrangements in northeastern Syria.
According to Hawar, this visit is Mazloum Abdi's third visit to Europe, after previous visits to Geneva and Munich, during which he held meetings with European political and diplomatic bodies.

These moves come at a time when political and security discussions in northeastern Syria are continuing, and mechanisms for integrating the existing military and administrative forces in the region and affiliated with the SDF within the Syrian state institutions.
According to Hawar, Mazloum Abdi's current European tour reflects "the continuation of the diplomatic movement related to the SDF file, in light of continuous attempts to discuss the formulas of understanding with regional and international parties, including security and political aspects, in addition to the future of the Autonomous Administration" in the areas controlled by the SDF.
