Milan defeats Inter with a hat-trick and halts their winning streak
Milan wins the Milan derby 3-1 against Inter Milan in the tenth round of the Italian league.

Milan wins the derby

Milan halted the winning streak of their rival and guest Inter Milan in the Italian football league, defeating them 3-1 on Saturday at the "Giuseppe Meazza" stadium, in the climax of the tenth round's competitions, thus securing the "Derby della Madonnina" in their favor.

The "Rossoneri" quickly regained their balance following their 2-4 loss to Bologna in the previous round, raising their tally to 21 points in fourth place in the standings, while Inter suffered their first defeat in the competition, freezing their tally at 25 points in second place.

Early goals and outstanding creation

Milan imposed their dominance early on, when American Christian Pulisic opened the scoring in the fourth minute, following a precise cross from Belgian Diego Moreira from the right flank, which he headed into the net, giving the home side the lead.

Milan strengthened their superiority just 6 minutes later, when Moreira returned to create the second goal, after executing a curling corner kick inside the penalty area, which Frenchman Adrien Rabiot touched once with his left foot, placing the ball in the far corner of Inter's goal.

Inter tries to return

Inter managed to reduce the deficit in the 22nd minute, when Turkish player Hakan 脟alhano臒lu took a corner kick towards the near post, which Swiss defender Manuel Akanji headed to Alessandro Bastoni, who then headed it into the net, bringing his team back into the match.

Inter nearly equalized in the 35th minute, when Carlos Augusto sent a low cross that reached Djed Spence, who shot from close range, but French goalkeeper Mike Maignan excelled in saving the attempt, maintaining Milan's lead.

Decisive blow and end of the match

Before the end of the first half, Milan dealt another blow to their neighbor, as Moreira scored the third goal in the 44th minute, after taking a free kick from a long distance, sending the ball over the defensive wall into the net, ending the first half with the home side leading, after Moreira created two goals and scored one.

In the second half, Inter intensified its attempts to reduce the deficit and return to the match, but it lacked precision in the final touch. In the 56th minute, 脟alhano臒lu sent a dangerous cross towards the far post, but Carlos Augusto's header did not find its way into the goal.

The 74th minute saw the referee overturn a penalty decision in favor of Inter due to Mattia Gila touching the ball with his hand, following a cross from Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan, after he called for the Video Assistant Referee technology to review the incident, and it became clear that the ball hit the chest of the Milan defender, not his arm.

In the final minutes, Inter continued its attempts to reduce the deficit, but Milan's defense maintained its cohesion, allowing the "Rossoneri" to exit victorious, achieving their third win in the last 4 league meetings against their rival, and extending their unbeaten streak against them to 9 consecutive matches.
