The Ministry of Education and Higher Education conducted the national standardized admission test for the Advanced Technology track today, Tuesday, with the participation of 1,024 male and female students, to select 300 of them to join the track.

Test Details and Results

For his part, Deputy Minister of Education for Vocational Education Affairs, Mohammed Ghayth Barhany, clarified that the test mimics the reference model provided by the Ministry to students about two weeks ago, with the aim of familiarizing them with the nature of the questions and the mechanism for answering them. Barhany explained that the test includes approximately 24 questions to assess students' abilities in logical and mathematical analysis and intelligence, six questions related to computers and students' knowledge of computers and the Internet, in addition to five questions each in Mathematics and Physics.

He pointed out that the results are scheduled to be issued on the evening of next Thursday, while student Raha Hassan, one of the test applicants, expressed her satisfaction with the level of questions, noting that they were suitable for different levels and that she took the test well.

Future Expansion of the Track

Minister of Education and Higher Education Mohammed Abdul Rahman Tarqo, in a statement to SANA during an inspection tour of the examination centers, clarified that the track started in the governorates of Damascus, Homs, and Aleppo, pointing to a plan for horizontal expansion by adding new governorates next year, and vertical expansion by increasing the number of accepted students. Tarqo expressed his wishes for the students' success and hoped that the track would achieve its goals in developing technological education in Syria.

Legal Framework of the Track

President Ahmed al-Sharaa issued Decree No. (183) of 2026 on October 7, establishing the "National Advanced Technology Track," under the supervision of the Ministries of Education and Higher Education, in coordination with other relevant ministries. Admission to these schools is decided annually by the Minister of Education and Higher Education, based on two main conditions: passing the Basic Education Certificate or its equivalent, and passing a national standardized test.
