Ministry of Local Administration Signs Memorandum for Digitalizing Property Records in Syria
The Ministry of Local Administration signs a $2 million memorandum with a US company to digitize property records in five provinces within six months.

The Ministry of Local Administration and Environment signed a memorandum of understanding with "Creative Associates International" today, Monday, funded by the US Department of State, to digitize property records in Syria, at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus. The project's total budget is two million dollars, aiming to equip five archiving centers and qualify staff of property affairs directorates in the Damascus, Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Hama, and Raqqa governorates, in addition to establishing a data center in Damascus to ensure sustainable electronic archiving.

Minister of Local Administration and Environment Mohammad Anjarani emphasized that automating property and ownership records falls within the framework of developing real estate work and preserving data, noting that the project represents the first phase of a series of future projects. He clarified that the implementation period is approximately six months, with work beginning through the participation of specialized field teams to train and qualify staff to work on digitalization systems, ensuring continuity of work after the period ends.

For his part, Leland Crowvent, CEO of "Creative" company, stated that the company has continued its support for the Syrian people since 2013, noting the transition of its work from remote management to direct field work from Damascus. He added that the project aims to contribute to preserving the rights of thousands of Syrians by providing expertise and technical and logistical support according to the ministry's needs, while the Ministry of Industry and Internal Trade had launched yesterday a parallel project to update and digitize company registration with the same partnership.
