The Ministry of Transport continues to expand the scope of the 'Daqeeq' electronic application in the governorates, as part of the digital transformation path and the development of services provided to citizens. The platform aims to enable pre-booking and scheduling the completion of transactions, thereby contributing to reducing waiting times, organizing the flow of visitors, saving time and effort, and limiting congestion in transport centers and departments.
The ministry began implementing the platform about five months ago in the Nahr Aisha Sub-Directorate under the Damascus Transport Directorate, and in the Sarmeda Directorate in Idlib, before expanding the experiment to include the governorates of Aleppo and Hama. Preparations are underway to launch it soon in Deir Ezzor, with the goal of generalizing the service and benefiting from electronic solutions in transport directorates across various governorates.
Booking and Registration Mechanism
The platform allows citizens to book an appointment in advance to complete their transaction, through the electronic link published on the pages of the Ministry of Transport and the Damascus Transport Directorate, or by scanning the available QR code in the Directorate. Citizens can also view the required documents for each transaction in advance, which facilitates prior preparation.
Saving Time and Effort
Husam al-Din Rahhal, director of the Nahr Aisha Sub-Directorate, clarified that the directorate completes various vehicle-related transactions, including registration, renewal, and transfer of ownership, relying on the platform. Rahhal pointed out that the platform has contributed to saving time and effort, as citizens can now complete their transaction within an hour or less, whereas they previously had to wait for long hours. He noted that the directorate completes approximately 300 to 400 transactions daily through pre-bookings via the platform.
For his part, Abdul Starr Ibrahim, supervisor of the directorate's halls, explained that the 'Daqeeq' platform represents an advanced experience in organizing work by distributing the number of visitors across specific times. He clarified that citizens can access the platform from their mobile phones, choose a booking appointment, and pay the prescribed fees electronically via the 'Sham Cash' application, amounting to 140 Syrian pounds. He added that completing a transaction usually takes between half an hour and an hour, including cases requiring a technical inspection of the vehicle.
Citizen Satisfaction
A number of citizens visiting the directorate expressed their satisfaction with the pre-booking mechanism and the time and effort it saved. Visitor Zuhair al-Khan explained that he was able to book his appointment in advance and complete the required documents, allowing him to complete his transaction without long waiting. For his part, visitor Maher al-Ali noted that he completed his transaction in about 10 to 15 minutes, saving him a significant amount of time that he previously wasted waiting.
With the 'Daqeeq' experience moving from the Nahr Aisha and Sarmeda directorates to Aleppo and Hama, and preparations to introduce it to Deir Ezzor, the Ministry of Transport is moving towards expanding the scope of electronic services in its directorates, thereby enhancing the organization of administrative work and raising the efficiency of service centers.
