Ministry of Transport: Over 20,000 People Registered for Driver's Licenses
Driver's license administration recorded 20,795 registrants and 19,687 passers in October, renewing a school license in Aleppo.

Record Numbers in Registration and Success

The Vehicle Driver's License Administration at the Ministry of Transport registered 20,795 individuals in the lists of applicants for driver's licenses during the past month of October. The estimated number of new and repeat candidates for exams reached approximately 22,120 applicants, of whom 19,687 passed, achieving a success rate of 89 percent.

Renewal of Licenses and Quality Development

Mohammed Al-Aloush, Director of the Vehicle Driver's License Administration, clarified in a statement to SANA correspondent today, Wednesday, that the license for Al-Ghazi School for Vehicle Driving Instruction in Aleppo was renewed last month. He added that the total number of licensed driving schools in Syria has become 84 schools, emphasizing that development is not limited to increasing the number but also includes elevating the quality of theoretical and practical training.

New Regulatory Procedures

For his part, Al-Aloush pointed out that the Ministry of Transport's plan for the next phase focuses on improving the reality of vehicle driving schools and centers and developing their operational mechanisms. He noted that a package of regulatory and developmental measures will be announced in detail in conjunction with the issuance of the new Traffic Law, ensuring the graduation of drivers who possess the necessary skills for safe driving.

Achievements of the First Nine Months

These figures reflect the scale of work undertaken by the administration to regulate licensing procedures and develop the training system. The administration announced at the beginning of last month that the number of registered applicants for vehicle driver's licenses during the first nine months of the current year reached 149,299 individuals across various governorates, alongside efforts to improve inspection and training procedures.
