Mladenov calls on Israel to open Gaza to the Palestinian committee and international force
Mladenov urges Israel to immediately allow the Palestinian National Committee and the stabilization force into Gaza.

Peace Council representative Nikolai Mladenov called on Israel to immediately allow the Palestinian National Committee and the stabilization force to enter the Gaza Strip, in a letter addressed to the coordinator of Israeli government affairs, Yoram Halevi, as reported by Haaretz.

In the same context, Mladenov noted that his request came in response to Halevi’s suspension of the entry of goods through private sector traders, warning that this would lead to pressure on humanitarian aid, and also called for the start of a pilot program for the committee and the force in Rafah.

For its part, Hamas criticized Mladenov for claiming bias toward Israel and denied allegations of interference in the entry of goods, while Mladenov called for the disarmament of Hamas and the transfer of governance to the Palestinian National Committee.

Mladenov added the necessity of establishing a new mechanism for managing supplies in cooperation with the Peace Council, at a time when Israel refuses to allow caravans under the pretext of reconstruction before disarmament.

He indicated that the file is under discussion between the two parties, and also called for cooperation to solve shelter, sanitation, and medical care problems in the Strip.

According to the newspaper, Israel continues its war despite the ceasefire agreement, which has resulted in more than 74,000 dead, and prevents the entry of agreed quantities of food and medicine for approximately 2.4 million Palestinians.

The Israeli ministerial council had previously approved the entry of the force, but Netanyahu announced non-approval under pressure from ministers of the Religious Zionism party.

The newspaper did not mention Tel Aviv's response to Mladenov's letter.
