The use of smart screens and interactive technologies in several schools in Idlib has contributed to providing explanations and applications that go beyond the blackboard and the book, making the student more engaged and interactive with the educational content. In an interview with SANA today, Thursday, Mazen Naas, director of the second exemplary Al-Mutafaqoon School in Idlib, stated that the school includes female students from the seventh grade up to the third secondary grade, and relies on e-learning as a means of delivering information interactively.
Developing educational infrastructure
Naas pointed out that equipping the school's classrooms with smart visual screens and interactive projectors, along with physics, chemistry, biology, and computer laboratories, has contributed to directing the educational process towards involving students in building the lesson using applications and digital means. She explained that this approach facilitates explanation and clarification, enhances understanding and participation, which has contributed to raising the level of academic achievement and developing research, thinking, and inquiry skills among female students.
Students' experiences with digital education
Lamar and Houb, a tenth-grade science student, emphasized that education via smart screens has made lessons more enjoyable and easier, noting her interaction with the content through touch, drawing, and direct answering. Student Mais Jamil Shariki explained that interactive tools helped her memorize information faster and enhanced her participation and confidence in expression, while Mariam Ziad Al-Khalil pointed out that technology brought the information closer and made the student the center of the educational process.
Education statistics in the province
The adoption of e-learning in Idlib schools comes within the efforts of the Directorate of Education to develop the educational sector and keep pace with digital transformation. It is noted that the number of school students in various areas of Idlib province exceeded 540,000 students this year. The Director of Education in the province, Omar Latouf, clarified that the number of schools increased this year from about 1,800 schools to about 1,900 schools compared to last year.
