The Turkish football club Trabzonspor faces the Finnish team KuPS on Thursday in the 2026-2027 Europa Conference League season, marking the return of Egyptian Mohamed Salah to continental competitions with his new club this season.
The Egyptian star possesses extensive experience in European continental tournaments, having participated in several competitions with multiple clubs: Swiss Basel, Italian Roma, English Chelsea, and most recently, English Liverpool. Salah previously participated in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Super Cup, scoring 64 goals in 148 continental matches for the teams he played for.
Salah scored 50 goals in the UEFA Champions League, 10 goals in the UEFA Europa League, and 4 goals in the UEFA Champions League qualifying playoffs, bringing the total to 64 goals. Throughout his career, the captain of the Egyptian national team has scored against 38 European teams, either in the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa League, and the Finnish team KuPS could become the 39th team to concede a goal to Salah in Europe.
During the UEFA Champions League, Salah scored against 30 European teams, with Portuguese Porto being the most frequent target, conceding five goals, followed by Scottish Rangers with four, and then Spanish Atletico Madrid, Austrian Salzburg, and Slovenian Maribor with three goals each. In the UEFA Europa League, the Egyptian star scored against eight European teams, most notably English Tottenham, against whom he scored two goals in previous continental competitions.
Salah played in the UEFA Super Cup once against Chelsea, when he was playing for Liverpool, and did not score any goals, despite his team winning the match and being crowned champions at the time.
