National Information Technology Authority Signs Agreement with SMT for Cybersecurity
The National Information Technology Services Authority signed an agreement with SMT Group to qualify national cybersecurity cadres.

The National Information Technology Services Authority signed a cooperation agreement with the 'SMT' Group, specializing in cybersecurity and information technology solutions, aimed at enhancing national capabilities and qualifying Syrian cadres in this field, on the sidelines of the Syria International Security and Safety Exhibition (FORTIX 2026), held at the Damascus Fairgrounds.

The agreement stipulates the implementation of a training program to enhance the efficiency of national cadres in the field of cybersecurity, thereby strengthening their readiness to keep pace with the requirements of digital transformation in the coming stages. The program lasts for six months and includes a training camp implemented in three phases.

Jihad Alalla, Director of the National Information Security Center, told SANA on Tuesday that the first phase of the program targets approximately 500 students, with the possibility of expanding its scope to include between 2,000 and 2,500 students and government employees. He noted that the program includes tests and interviews to evaluate participants.

Alalla pointed out that outstanding participants will be selected to work on implementing projects that serve government entities and respond to their needs. The program will conclude by awarding certificates to participants who complete its requirements, a step that comes within the Authority's plan to build national capabilities.

The events of the Syria International Security and Safety Exhibition (FORTIX 2026) launched last Sunday, organized by 'Wasem' Company for Electronic Solutions and Smart Software, in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, with the participation of government entities, institutions, and companies specialized in security and safety fields.
