National Movement Hospital in Daraa receives 6,000 patients monthly
The hospital serves 15 surrounding towns and villages, facing challenges in staff and infrastructure.

The National Movement Hospital in the rural area of Daraa continues to provide medical and therapeutic services to the residents of the city and approximately 15 surrounding towns and villages, receiving more than 6,000 patients monthly, amidst efforts to develop its departments and overcome difficulties facing operations and meet growing needs.

The hospital director, Dr. Ali Al-Hariri, clarified in a statement to SANA today, Sunday, that patients are distributed among the emergency, outpatient clinics, and inpatient departments. He pointed out the hospital's need to reinforce its nursing and technical staff, secure specialist doctors, in addition to activating the pediatric department with a specialized team and operating its oxygen network.

For his part, orthopedic surgery specialist Dr. Ahmad Al-Ghazali stated in a similar statement that the hospital performs various surgical procedures, including minor surgeries such as trigger finger, and major and complex surgeries such as joint replacements and pelvic surgeries, noting that more than 250 procedures were performed over the past four months.

Al-Ghazali emphasized the importance of separating orthopedic surgeries from general surgeries to limit the spread of infection, explaining that the hospital also provides laboratory tests and radiographic and tomographic images, contributing to reducing travel burdens and expenses for patients requiring major surgeries in Damascus, despite its need for a larger operating room to accommodate the increasing pressure of procedures.

Regarding the services provided, citizen Khaled Musa Al-Turkmani praised the quality of free services, but pointed out difficulties facing patients, most notably the absence of an elevator, which poses a burden on dialysis patients, people with disabilities, and patients who need assistance with mobility, especially after dialysis sessions.

The National Movement Hospital is considered a vital medical facility in the eastern countryside of Daraa province, due to its central geographical location among several towns and villages with high population density, making it a primary destination for thousands of patients monthly and a cornerstone in providing health services to the residents of the area.
