The two camps tie
An update to the exit poll sample conducted by Israeli Channel 13 showed a tie between the camps of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and "Yesh Atid" party leader Gadi Eizenkot, with 51 seats each. In the same context, Arab parties collectively won 18 seats in this updated sample.
According to the updated sample as of 01:00 local time on Wednesday morning, the Likud party led by Netanyahu topped the results with 27 seats. It was followed by "Yesh Atid" led by Eizenkot with 23 seats, while the "Together" party led by Naftali Bennett came in third with 13 seats.
Seat distribution and parties
The Joint List followed with 11 seats, and the "Democrats" party led by Yair Golan won 9 seats. "Yisrael Beiteinu" and the "United Arab List" each won 7 seats, while Shas, Yehudut HaTorah, Jewish Power, and Religious Zionism parties each won 6 seats.
Meanwhile, the "Otzma Yehudit" party led by Ofer Winther and the "Reserve and Economy" party led by Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Zilcha failed to surpass the electoral threshold in this poll.
Voting and counting percentage
On Tuesday evening, the Israeli Election Committee announced in a statement that the voter turnout in the Knesset elections reached 77.7 percent, an increase of 7.1 percent compared to the 2022 elections. It noted that this was the highest since 1999, with polling stations closing at 10:00 PM local time (20:00 UTC).
At the closing of the polls, exit polls showed a lead for Eizenkot's camp over Netanyahu's camp, without either achieving the necessary majority to form a government, which is 61 seats out of 120. The picture of the results is expected to become clearer as vote counting progresses, while TV channel samples do not represent the official election results.
