New Israeli incursion into the northern countryside of Quneitra

On Saturday,  July 11, the Israeli occupation forces infiltrated in the vicinity of the village of Al-Samadaniyah Al-Sharqiyah, located in the northern countryside of Quneitra, in a step that comes in the context of the continuous and systematic Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty and the southern region, which have escalated significantly in recent periods amid international silence on the violations on the ground.

Media sources in Quneitra reported that a force of the occupation army, consisting of three military vehicles, penetrated the vicinity of the aforementioned village, and set up a temporary and sudden security checkpoint at the eastern junction of Samadaniyah, where the members of the mechanized force searched passers-by, strictly checked the identities of civilians and obstructed traffic, before withdrawing again from the area after completing its provocative operation.

Night raids in the southern countryside of Quneitra

Local sources indicated that this new Israeli incursion came a few hours after a large-scale incursion carried out by an Israeli occupation force, consisting of more than 15 armored military vehicles, as it stormed the village of Al-Asha, located in the southern countryside of Quneitra, after midnight yesterday, amid an atmosphere of tension that prevailed in the area.

Local sources indicated that the Israeli force storming the village of Al-Asha spread heavily in residential neighborhoods and raided and searched one of the houses, in addition to storming a fodder warehouse belonging to one of the farmers in the area, where it caused destruction and a thorough search, before retreating and retreating towards its rear positions behind the front lines.

Ongoing violations of the disengagement agreement

Israel continues to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through its repeated operations and ground incursions deep into the territory of southern Syria, and its direct and daily attacks on civilians through raids and arbitrary arrests, razing agricultural lands, uprooting fruit trees and erecting earthen berms, as well as firing artillery shells and fire at safe villages and towns along the ceasefire line.

Local sources in Quneitra confirmed that the Israeli incursions are no longer limited to surveillance, but include the establishment of temporary checkpoints, and the field investigation of Syrian residents and farmers in their lands, which represents a flagrant violation of the relevant international resolutions and a continuous attempt to intimidate the residents of the steadfast border villages in the countryside of the governorate.

 The sources following up on this file pointed out that  the repeated Israeli incursions into the countryside of Quneitra and Daraa come as an escalating Israeli strategy to bypass the ceasefire lines and establish new field and military realities in the buffer zone, amid continuous warnings of the seriousness of these repeated violations of the UN disengagement agreement issued five decades ago.
