Ongoing violations in southern Lebanon and Beirut await Israeli withdrawal
Lebanese army rejects 'Israeli trap'

The  Lebanese field and political circles have recorded the  complete absence of any actual withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from southern Lebanon, at a time when the Lebanese side is still waiting for the implementation of the provisions of the "Framework Agreement" in specific pilot areas in preparation for their delivery by the army.

Military sources linked the next executive steps to the return of the US Marine Corps commander in the Central Region, Maj. Gen. Joseph Clearfield, to Beirut from Tel Aviv, in order to obtain a clear timetable for the withdrawal, after the signing of the framework agreement and the formation of the new Military Coordination Group (MCGL).

Behind the Scenes of the Israeli Talks and Conditions

Yesterday in Tel Aviv, US Major General Joseph Clearfield met with Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, where the two sides discussed logistical and field coordination mechanisms to advance the Lebanese Army's deployment to the south to ensure the exit of Hezbollah from those areas.

During the meeting, Zamir stressed Tel Aviv's constants of isolating the truce processes and partial withdrawal from any Iranian influence, warning against wasting what he described as the party's "historical weakness," while the Israeli army expressed skepticism – according to the "Jerusalem Post" – the ability and decisiveness of the Lebanese army based on the data of late 2024.

Military rejection of the "trap north of the Litani"

High-ranking military sources in Yarza have completely rejected Israeli proposals aimed at expanding the "yellow line" to include the Ali al-Taher heights and areas north of the Litani River.

The sources considered that the Israeli side is trying to evade its commitments and circumvent the negotiations by implicating the army in entering mined areas devoid of occupation to push it towards a confrontation and direct clash with the Lebanese components, stressing that civil peace is a "red line", and that the treatment of the weapons file should be political par excellence instead of throwing a fireball into the arms of the military establishment.

Protecting sovereignty and rejecting censorship

Lebanese  President Joseph Aoun defended the option of negotiations, stressing that what is stipulated in the framework does not contradict the Lebanese constants, but seeks to obtain rights at the lowest cost and ensure that no inch of land is compromised.

On the other hand, the military sources stressed that the army categorically refuses to undergo any kind of examination or unprofessional "control and verification mechanisms" in its areas of deployment, pointing out that scrutiny and monitoring must be directed towards the maneuvering Israeli behavior that began to evade before the ink of the Washington agreement dried.

Ending the tasks of the Givati Brigade and escalating on the ground

The Israeli occupation army announced the end of the tasks of the "Givati Brigade" in southern Lebanon after eight months of combat military operations, and the holding of an official ceremony for it at the "Fillon" camp in the north.

While the occupation claimed the destruction of hundreds of Hezbollah infrastructures in Khiyam and Bint Jbeil, the "Haaretz" newspaper linked the move to field arrangements and partial repositioning related to the negotiations, while the violations on the ground continued through airstrikes targeting the vicinity of Ghandour Hospital in Nabatieh and the town of Barashit, and violent explosions on houses in Hadda, Kunin and Al-Tiri, in conjunction with Israel's announcement that a number of its soldiers were injured in a security incident in Bint Jbeil.
