Damascus countryside governor Amer Al-Sheikh inaugurated, on Thursday, a civil affairs directorate in the town of Hamuriya in the Eastern Ghouta region, in the presence of the area director Mohammed Ali Amer. This opening aims to enhance civil affairs services and facilitate residents' access to documents and official transactions within a prepared and modern service environment.
Al-Sheikh clarified that the opening of the directorate is part of the governorate's vision to provide close, easy, and fast services to citizens, noting that its establishment is the result of cooperation between the governorate, the local community, and the Hamuriya municipality, under the supervision of the Civil Affairs Directorate. He pointed out the importance of the directorate in alleviating the burden on citizens traveling to distant areas to complete their transactions, indicating that the governorate is working to complete the opening of similar service centers in other areas.
For his part, Mustafa Sarhan, director of the Civil Affairs Directorate in the Damascus countryside governorate, stated that the new directorate was equipped according to modern standards and includes an air-conditioned hall with a modern electronic system, to receive approximately 500 visitors daily. The services include issuing records, family data, death and marriage data, and registering external incidents.
Sarhan added that data on internal incidents has become available on the electronic system, allowing documents to be issued directly without the need to visit courts or hospitals, thereby saving time and effort. This opening comes within the government's efforts to develop civil affairs services, where Al-Sheikh opened the citizen service center in Sahnayya on January 22 after its rehabilitation.
