The National Teacher Development Program 'Athar' held the national exam for the first national session of the English track today, Saturday, under the patronage and supervision of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, in institutional partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training.
The exam was conducted electronically via the 'Athar' platform in approved centers across the governorates, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM, with more than 300 teachers and supervisors from various governorates participating, aiming to evaluate their skills and modern teaching strategies.
Integrated Digital Infrastructure
Badr Al-Muzayeq, Director General of the 'Athar' program, explained in a statement to SANA correspondent that the participant's journey from the diagnostic stage to the national exam relies on an integrated digital infrastructure via the 'Athar' platform, free of any paper procedures, where it manages the processes of adding trainees, following up with them, communicating with them, and reaching the exams.
Al-Muzayeq pointed out that the program management is keen on ensuring quality and fairness in the examination process, requiring candidates for the national exam to complete key criteria, including attending the workshop in full, conducting self-reflection, and then evaluating the workshop, with the aim of forming a comprehensive development file for each participant that documents their courses, classroom practices, certificates, and development path, through a smart mechanism relying on artificial intelligence technologies to measure impact.
Refining Skills of Teachers and Supervisors
For her part, the First Supervisor of the English Language subject at the Ministry of Education and Training, Ola Agha, confirmed to SANA that the exam is the fruit of two previous stages; the first included the diagnostic stage in all governorates to identify challenges facing the teaching of the subject, followed by a stage of preparing a comprehensive training file and holding workshops that covered cities and rural areas.
She noted that the two stages aimed to refine the skills of teachers, supervisors, and coordinators with modern strategies that enhance teacher performance and activate the student's role in the classroom, stating that the 'Athar' program provided participants with scientific materials and regulatory guidelines prior to the exam.
Agha added that collecting scientific materials, evaluation, self-reflection, and the national exam within the platform made the participants' experience more interconnected and organized, and helped utilize technology to facilitate training and evaluation stages, noting the clarity of instructions and the availability of technical support when needed.
The National Program for Developing Teachers' Skills 'Athar' launched last August 13 the first national session for developing English language teachers' skills under the title 'Towards an Interactive and Effective Classroom', in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Training.
