Targeting of homes in Gaza
A Palestinian man and his wife were killed on Tuesday morning, and five others, including four women, were injured in an Israeli military airstrike and gunfire targeting the cities of Gaza and Khan Younis in the northern and southern parts of the Strip. A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital reported the arrival of the bodies of Palestinian Akram Bassam Yassin (39) and his wife Dina Nabil Yassin (36), along with four injured, including three women, following an Israeli airstrike on a home in western Gaza City.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency correspondents that an Israeli helicopter struck a house belonging to the Bakr family near Al-Shifa Hospital with at least one missile, killing the couple and injuring others. Witnesses added that the shelling caused a fire in the targeted home, which was later extinguished by civil defense teams.
Intensive military operations in Gaza
In the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City, the Israeli military conducted artillery shelling and fired heavily from military vehicles and "Quadcopter" drones at Palestinian homes and displaced persons' tents in the Tuffah neighborhood. Eyewitnesses stated that the shelling and gunfire continued throughout the night, while the area witnessed several explosions resulting from demolition operations carried out by the military on homes and civilian facilities within its control.
Israeli warships also fired bullets and shells at the northern coasts of Gaza City, while Israeli vehicles fired heavily at the Sudaneya area in the northwest of the Strip. These developments are part of the daily Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025.
Casualty toll in Khan Younis
In the southern part of the Strip, a medical source at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis reported that a Palestinian girl was injured after the Israeli military fired at displaced persons' tents in the Al-Aqili area south of the city. Eyewitnesses said Israeli tanks fired heavily at residents' homes and displaced persons' tents in various areas of central, southern, and northern Khan Younis, coinciding with a wide-scale demolition operation carried out by the military within its control east of the city.
As of Monday, Israeli violations of the agreement have resulted in the deaths of 1,522 Palestinians and injuries to 5,421 others, according to the latest data from the Health Ministry in the Strip. Since October 2023, Israel has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000 during the genocide war in Gaza, while the war has caused widespread destruction affecting nearly 90 percent of the Strip's civilian infrastructure.
