The Palestinian Prisoners Club confirmed the escalation of arrest campaigns and raids carried out by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, noting that approximately 70 arrests were recorded from yesterday until dawn on Saturday. This wave of arrests coincides with a widespread military offensive in the Hebron Governorate.
The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) quoted the club in a statement today, saying that raids targeted hundreds of homes in Hebron, accompanied by the displacement of citizens from specific areas and the conversion of homes into military barracks and field investigation centers, in addition to acts of vandalism and destruction. It pointed out that arrests and raids extended to several governorates, including Ramallah, Qalqilya, Jenin, Nablus, Jericho, Salfit, Tulkarm, Bethlehem, Tubas, and Jerusalem.
The club clarified that occupation authorities recorded more than 26,000 arrest cases in the West Bank since the start of the genocide war, along with thousands of detainees from the Gaza Strip and tens of thousands who underwent field investigations. It highlighted the targeting of released prisoners, noting that detainees released later were subjected to torture, threats, and intimidation.
The club emphasized that these practices cannot be treated as isolated incidents, but rather fall under a policy of collective retaliation in the absence of accountability, as part of the apartheid system in the West Bank and an extension of the genocide crime in Gaza. It called on the Palestinian government to urge the international community to intervene urgently to stop occupation violations, warning of escalating collective punishment and home demolitions in Hebron.
