Two Palestinians were injured on Friday as a result of a beating by settlers during an attack targeting farmers in the town of Abu Fahla, north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated in a statement that its teams in Ramallah were treating two injuries resulting from the beating of a 63-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, noting that they were being transported to the hospital.
Double attack on farmers
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that settlers attacked farmers in Abu Fahla town simultaneously with an attack on the neighboring town of Turmus Ayya. On Friday, Israeli settlers attacked olive pickers in Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah in the West Bank, assaulted Palestinian farmers, and set fire to three vehicles.
Local sources told Anadolu that a group of settlers attacked olive pickers in the town and assaulted the farmers with beatings. They added that the settlers set fire to three Palestinian vehicles during the attack and assaulted the outskirts of the town.
Escalation of attacks
On Monday, the Palestinian Resistance Wall and Settlement Authority announced the documentation of 136 attacks related to the olive harvest season, carried out by the Israeli army and settlers since the beginning of October. According to the authority, the attacks varied between beating, expulsion, intimidation, shooting, use of gas bombs, and arrest, in addition to stealing fruits, harvesting equipment, and damaging trees.
Official data indicates the presence of approximately 750,000 Israeli settlers in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, distributed across 194 settlements and about 400 outposts.
