Lebanese President Joseph Aoun announced that continuous Israeli violations on Lebanese territory will lead to an increase in the Lebanese people's attachment to their land and rights, during his meeting with Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy in Beirut on Monday.
Aoun pointed out that Israel has not complied with the framework agreement, as the south continues to face daily violations, emphasizing that this approach will not yield any results but will instead increase the Lebanese people's attachment to their land and rights, while not helping the Lebanese state achieve its set goals.
For his part, Fahmy affirmed full support for the Lebanese state and all its institutions, standing by it politically, economically, and socially, stressing that Lebanon is a priority for the Arab League, while Aoun expressed his country's welcome for any efforts made by the League to help it overcome the difficult phase.
It is worth noting that Lebanon and Israel signed a ceasefire agreement last June under US sponsorship, which includes disarming armed groups not affiliated with the Lebanese state and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from areas they infiltrated in southern Lebanon, yet occupation forces continue their violations.
Aoun added his reaffirmation of his country's commitment to a diplomatic solution despite its difficulties, as it is far less costly than the destructive war that the Lebanese people, especially those in the south, are paying the price for, emphasizing that it is time for Lebanon to find its path to peace.
