Pyramids, Al Ahly, and Zamalek return to the Egyptian league after continental victories.

The top three teams, Pyramids, Al Ahly, and Zamalek, return to the Egyptian Premier League matches in the middle of the current week to play the seventh round, after achieving continental victories away from home in the recent period.

The league leaders, Pyramids, visit Al Plaia Al Geish, while the third-placed Zamalek receives Petroleum Assiut on Tuesday next, and the second-placed Al Ahly plays at home against Al Qana on Wednesday next. The trio hopes to achieve victories in the exciting top-of-the-table clash before returning to continental competition in the return legs of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Pyramids seeks full marks

Pyramids enters the match against Al Plaia Al Geish with high morale, after returning from South Sudan with a 1-0 win against Al Merrikh, which put a foot in the group stage of the CAF Champions League. This victory is the tenth consecutive win for the club in all competitions since the appointment of South African coach Rolani Mokoena as technical director, achieving an unprecedented record in the club's history. Mokoena seeks to achieve his seventh league victory to continue his perfect record and take sole possession of the top spot.

For his part, Al Plaia Al Geish, managed by Jumaa Mashhour, hopes to be the first team to stop Pyramids' streak. The team sits in fourteenth place with 7 points from six matches, after achieving two wins and one draw against three defeats.

Zamalek receives Petroleum Assiut

At the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Zamalek, who returned to victory after snatching a win against Al Geish in the CAF Champions League, receives Petroleum Assiut, who has returned to the Premier League. Zamalek coach Ma'atad Jamal hopes to regain local victories after the loss to Al Ahly, which saw Zamalek drop to third place with 13 points.

Meanwhile, Petroleum Assiut, who sits in sixteenth place with 5 points, is forced to play their matches in Alexandria due to the unpreparedness of their stadium in Assiut. The team hopes to surprise Zamalek under the leadership of former player Ahmed Abdel Maqsoud.

Al Ahly receives Al Qana

Al Ahly receives guest Al Qana at the Cairo International Stadium on Wednesday next, after their 2-1 win against Ugandan club Kitara in the CAF Confederation Cup. Omar Al Saqi and Ahmed Sayed "Zizo" scored two goals in the second half, bringing the Red club closer to the group stage for the first time in 11 years.

The return of Moroccan coach Hussein Amouta to the starting lineup is awaited, after he made seven changes against Kitara. Amouta hopes to strengthen his position among the red fans, while Al Qana presents a balanced performance in eleventh place with 7 points, under the leadership of Abdel Nasser Mohamed.

The round opens on Monday with three matches between Al Gouna and Smouha, Enppi and Al Mokawloon Al Arab, and Al Masry and Abu Qir Fertilizers.
