Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf confirmed that Tehran has provided the United States with a "strong and logical" response, noting that preventing the outbreak of war depends on Washington's decision. During a speech delivered on Tuesday in parliament, he warned that Tehran's response to any attack would be "unpredictable".
In the same context, Qalibaf pointed out that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has defined the military strategy to face any potential attack. He added: "Based on that, our military and strategic response to any miscalculations by the enemy will be unpredictable."
Warnings of a new war front
He indicated that Iran will destroy the enemy's calculations regardless of geographical constraints. He continued: "Regardless of any geographical constraints, we will destroy their miscalculations along with all their assets." He noted that Iran is ready for war but has provided a rational response through Qatar and Pakistan.
Qalibaf warned that if Washington makes a strategic error, it will face a new war front. He went on to say: "The ball is now in the United States' court to prevent the outbreak of war."
Simultaneous diplomatic and military escalation
These statements come amid an escalation between Iran and the United States, as Washington carried out a strike targeting a missile platform on Qeshm Island. Khamenei had previously ordered a response to any attack immediately and effectively, without being bound by geographical boundaries.
For his part, US President Donald Trump stated that reaching an agreement with Iran is possible. US Vice President JD Vance added that the two countries have made some progress toward finding a way out of the war.
