The Qatar national team lost  to its counterpart Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-1 in the match that took place today at Seattle Stadium, within the third and final round of Group B competitions in the 2026 World Cup finals.

The Qatari national team's balance was frozen at one point in the fourth and last place in the group, to officially bid farewell to the tournament from the first round, while the Bosnian national team raised its score to four points in third place, enhancing its chances of qualifying for the round of 32 among the top eight teams occupying third place among the 12 groups.

The goal of the Qatari national team was scored by the captain Hassan Al-Haydos in the (42nd) minute, while the goals of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team were scored by Karim Alajbegović in the (29th) minute, Sultan Al-Breik by mistake in his goal in the (34th) minute, and Ermen Mahmić in the (80th) minute.

The Qatari national team started the match defensively in light of the early pressure exerted by the Bosnian team, so it tightened its back areas and relied on quick counter-attacks, so Akram Afif almost opened the scoring when he singled out the goal, but the defender intervened at the right time and removed the danger in the (13th) minute.

The Bosnian national team continued its pressure until it was able to open the scoring through Karim Alajbegović, who shot a powerful ball from outside the box that settled into the net in the 29th minute.

The Bosnian national team came back to strengthen its lead with a second goal less than five minutes later, following a coordinated attack that reached Edin Dzeko, who shot a powerful ball that was turned by Qatari defender Sultan Al-Breik by mistake in his goal at the 34th minute.

An uprising with no result

The Qatari national team rose up in the remainder of the first half, and showed great offensive boldness, imposing continuous pressure on its opponent until it succeeded in reducing the difference when Pedro Miguel penetrated from the right side and reversed a ball that reached Edmilson Jr., who prepared it for captain Hassan Al-Haydos, who found the net and scored the first goal for Annabi in the 42nd minute.

The Qatari national team continued its advantage and control of the course of the game, and was close to realizing the tie after an organized attack during which the ball reached Akram Afif, who passed it to Pedro Miguel, to shoot a powerful ball that bounced off the post in the second minute of stoppage time of the first half, which ended with the Bosnian national team leading by two goals to one.

Annabi started the second half in the same way as he ended the first half, through an intense attack in search of an equalizer, as Akram Afif almost scored after receiving a pass from Edmilson Jr., but he shot a powerful ball that passed along the goal and hit the net from the outside in the 57th minute.

While the Qatari national team was looking for the equalizer, the Bosnian national team managed to score the third goal through substitute Ermen Mahmić, who followed up a rebound from the defense and shot it hard that goalkeeper Mahmoud Abu Nada was unable to save, in the 80th minute.

The remaining minutes did not witness any change in the level of the result, and the match ended with the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team winning by three goals to one, boosting its hopes of qualifying for the round of 32, while the Qatari team bid farewell to the tournament from the first round.
