The Syrian Bakers Branch in Al-Hasakah Governorate, in cooperation with the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, has begun qualifying eight public ovens distributed across different areas of the governorate, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and improve production conditions. This step comes within the framework of efforts to develop the public bakery sector and elevate the quality of products provided to citizens.
Details of Qualification Sites
Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Muhammad Shuqayy Muhammad, stated in a statement to a SANA correspondent today, Monday, that the qualification works include the Industry Oven in Qamishli city, ovens in the cities of Derik, Mayadin, and Qamishli, in addition to two ovens in the Masaken and Ghuwayran neighborhoods in Al-Hasakah city, and two ovens in the Nahiyas of Tal Tamr and Merkad in the countryside of the governorate. He clarified that the works involve installing new production lines, qualifying civil structures, and carrying out necessary renovation works.
Comprehensive Plan to Develop 17 Bakeries
Muhammad pointed out that qualifying the eight ovens represents the first stage of a work plan to qualify 17 bakeries across the governorate. He noted that last week, investment and cooperation contracts were organized with investors to update these bakeries, by providing commitments to develop their technical and operational infrastructure, which contributes to improving production quality and elevating the level of services provided to citizens.
Improving Bread Quality and Previous Programs
The Director of Internal Trade emphasized that the quality of bread in the governorate remains below the desired level amid multiple technical and operational challenges, stressing the need to make strenuous efforts to address existing imbalances according to a practical and gradual plan. The program named "The Better Bread" was launched on August 26 with the aim of developing the sector and improving production quality. In this context, the Director General of the Syrian Bakers Company, Muhammad Tariq Al-Sayyad, confirmed on the 26th of last month the update and qualification of 159 bakeries in various governorates since liberation, with 74 bakeries nearing entry into service.
