The Directorate of Technical Services in Quneitra governorate began, on Tuesday, the second and final phase of paving works for the road connecting the Damascus-Quneitra highway towards Naab Al-Fawwar village, which is 2 km long. This project aims to improve the road situation and rehabilitate infrastructure in the governorate, as part of the "Our Golan Deserves" campaign activities.
The head of the Roads Department in the Directorate, Jassem Al-Jassem, stated that the project responds to the demands of residents in the area, facilitating traffic movement and reducing travel time between villages and towns. He pointed out that the site represents a connection point between the industrial zone and the Damascus highway, emphasizing that technical workshops are operating at full capacity to complete the work according to the required technical standards and within the specified timeframe.
For his part, project supervisor Mahmoud Ghannoum explained that the current works include laying an asphalt surface and paving the vital road with dimensions of 2 km in length, 7.5 m in width, and 7 cm in thickness. He affirmed that these dimensions ensure the road's durability and its ability to withstand heavy traffic movements and heavy transport loads.
The Director of Technical Services in the department, Shihada Al-Arnous, indicated that the first phase of the project involved rehabilitating the road of the northeastern entrance to the governorate towards Naab Al-Fawwar. These works are being completed today as part of the "Our Golan Deserves" campaign, which now encompasses all projects of the Directorate of Technical Services, including completion projects.
The Directorate had previously begun, on the 10th of last month, works to rehabilitate the road of the northeastern entrance to the governorate towards Naab Al-Fawwar. These works included preparing a section 2000 meters long and 7.5 meters wide, according to approved technical specifications, to replace the current layer and lay a new hot-mix asphalt layer across the entire section.
