Quneitra Health Launches Vaccination Campaign for Children in Suwayda
Quneitra Health Directorate launches vaccination campaign in Suwayda to boost immunity and monitor children's nutritional status.

The Quneitra Health Directorate launched, on Tuesday, a vaccination campaign targeting children in the Suwayda area, through health centers in Ain al-Tina, Al-Qusayba, and Al-Rifid, with the aim of enhancing coverage of routine vaccines and preventing communicable and infectious diseases.

The director of Ain al-Tina Health Center, Abdullah Al-Ali, explained that the campaign focuses primarily on vaccinating one-year-old children, noting the noticeable interest from parents in visiting health centers to benefit from the campaign's services.

Al-Ali clarified that the provided services include monitoring children's nutritional status by measuring height and weight and assessing their growth, in addition to providing free medications, including painkillers, fever reducers, and some medical preparations.

The campaign comes as part of the Quneitra Health Directorate's efforts to strengthen the national vaccination program and expand the scope of health services in rural areas, ensuring access to primary healthcare, nutritional, and pharmaceutical services for children and their families.

The national vaccination program aims to reduce infection and mortality rates among children under five by providing vaccines that protect against serious diseases, most notably polio, measles, tuberculosis, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and hepatitis.

The Ministry of Health had launched in October 2025 a campaign to enhance routine vaccination and follow up on children who dropped out of the national vaccination program, targeting children from one day to five years of age, through health centers and mobile teams in various governorates.
