The Directorate of Real Estate Services in Raqqa Governorate has faced significant challenges since resuming operations last July after a halt lasting since 2013, imposed by years of service interruption and accumulated transactions, alongside efforts to rehabilitate the directorate to strengthen its staff and facilitate citizens' transactions.
In the same context, Abdullah Al-Thalji, Director of Real Estate Services in the governorate, clarified that the directorate provides essential services including extracting registration data and property deeds, preparing survey plans, and following up on transfer transactions, absolute sales, and partitioning.
Al-Thalji pointed out that the long stoppage led to the accumulation of large files, imposing additional pressure on staff, noting that the interruption of services prompted some citizens to conduct sales and purchases outside official records and the real estate journal.
For his part, Al-Thalji confirmed that the directorate is working in cooperation with the General Directorate of Real Estate Services and under the supervision of the governorate to rehabilitate the headquarters and strengthen it with specialized staff in legal, technical, and administrative fields.
He added that efforts include equipping the directorate with surveying devices, plot extraction equipment, and photocopiers, which helps improve workflow, expedite transaction completion, and reduce congestion, aiming to provide more efficient services.
Citizens highlighted the importance of enhancing services and providing necessary facilities to facilitate procedures amid increasing pressure on staff due to file accumulation, emphasizing the need to update work mechanisms and move towards automating records to ensure transaction integrity and protect rights.
Abdulbujmal praised the efforts of staff working to preserve real estate ownership and citizens' rights, given the urgent need to restore ownership documentation and regulate transactions according to approved records after years of stoppage.
