Mourinho's plan to hire Dumfries
Based on the latest arrangements inside the Royal Dressing Room, and with the completion of Jose Mourinho's defensive project, the picture is clear about the available numbers and the role of the Dutchman Denzel Dumfries in the new squad.
The Dutch full-back has settled heavily on the number (2) shirt, the historic number of the Real Madrid right-back, to be part of the team's basic structure, and the numbers (14) and (17) remain reserve options in case of any adjustment, and Konate will carry the number (4) and the number (3), in a new distribution that reflects the reconstruction of the back line.
The signing of Dumfries came as a top priority for the Portuguese coach, with the aim of filling the chronic gap in the right front and the new defensive line will include: Dumfries on the right, Konate and Rodiger in depth, and Cocuria on the left, to form a solid defensive quartet in line with the "Special One" style.
With these arrangements, Dumfries enters Mourinho's project as a key piece in the rebuilding of Real Madrid's defence, with a clear role and a number that reflects his place in the squad.
