Rehabilitation and restoration of Al-Hawash school in Hama countryside begins under 'Syria Without Camps' campaign
The Syrian Construction and Building Foundation has started rehabilitating Al-Hawash school in northern Hama countryside.

The Syrian Construction and Building Foundation, in coordination with the Hama Directorate of Education and Teaching, has commenced the rehabilitation and restoration of Al-Hawash school in northern Hama countryside. The aim is to improve the educational reality and prepare a suitable school environment, thereby supporting the return of families and their stability in their areas, as part of the "Syria Without Camps" campaign.

Project Director Details Progress

Project Director at the Syrian Construction and Building Foundation, Hassan Daimes, clarified that the restoration and rehabilitation works are proceeding at a rapid pace to complete the project and hand it over within the specified timeframe, while adhering to the required technical specifications.

School Capacity and Scope of Works

From his side, Hazem Balhous from the School Buildings Department at the Hama Directorate of Education and Teaching, pointed out that Al-Hawash school consists of two floors with a capacity of approximately 400 students. He explained that the rehabilitation and restoration works include pouring roofs, building walls, equipping restrooms, in addition to restoring the main courtyard.

Residents Call for More Schools

Ammar Sattam, a resident of Al-Hawash village, added that students are forced to attend a single school that cannot accommodate them all, which places a burden on students and their families. He noted that some travel long distances to reach it, calling for the urgent rehabilitation and equipping of additional schools to alleviate parents' suffering and provide students with educational opportunities closer to their residences.

First Batch of Projects Launched

The Hama governorate launched the first batch of projects under the "Syria Without Camps" initiative on September 13 last, comprising 84 projects distributed across 70 areas in the governorate.
