Rehabilitation of 22 health centers in Hama to serve residents
Hama Health Directorate has put 22 health centers into service since the start of the year to improve primary care in villages and towns.

The Hama Health Directorate announced the rehabilitation of 22 health centers and their placement into service since the beginning of the current year, with the aim of expanding the scope of healthcare, especially in villages and towns that have seen the return of displaced residents. This measure comes to enhance basic medical services and make them available to residents close to their places of residence, particularly in areas where residents have returned after displacement.

Hama Health Director Dr. Fares Al-Masri clarified in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Saturday that the rehabilitation of health centers contributes to improving primary care services. He noted that these centers are distributed across the city and its countryside, including the centers in Kafr Nabudah, Kafr Zita, Al-Latamine, Ma'an, Murk, and Qal'at Al-Mudiq, in addition to the Salamiyah Supervisory Center, the Al-Sharia Dental Orthodontics Center, and the Physical Treatment and Prosthetics Center.

Al-Masri added that the rehabilitated centers provide child health services, reproductive health, pregnancy care, and vaccinations according to the national program, in addition to detecting and following up on cases of malnutrition. He pointed out that restarting these centers helps alleviate the burden of travel and transportation for residents, saving time, effort, and financial costs, and enabling patients to receive the necessary medical care, especially women, children, and the elderly.

For its part, relevant authorities in Hama Governorate are working in cooperation with community stakeholders and humanitarian and international organizations to develop the health sector. These efforts focus on rehabilitating hospitals, strengthening primary healthcare centers, supporting medical equipment, and training human resources to ensure the sustainability of provided services.
