The Robotics Club at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Homs University organized, on Wednesday, a technical day in coordination with the student union and in cooperation with Al-Muhandis Technology Company, aiming to introduce students to modern equipment in the field of robotics and 3D printing, and to link theoretical knowledge with practical application.
The event included a presentation of equipment provided by the company, including a 3D printer, development boards of Arduino and ESP32 types, electronic sensors, as well as a practical workshop to introduce the working mechanism of the printer and its uses in implementing engineering projects.
The club director and head of the Mechatronics Engineering Department, Eyad Murani, clarified that the technical day targets mechatronics engineering students and students of the faculty in general, noting the work on organizing subsequent training courses in the fields of programming, robotics, and Lego technologies.
For his part, the CEO of Al-Muhandis Company, Ahmad Al-Qaq, confirmed that the 3D printer allows converting designs executed on computers into tangible models, while boards and sensors enable the identification of Internet of Things and electronics applications.
He added that these equipment aim to introduce students to products available in the job market and help them gain practical experience in using and employing them in their engineering projects.
For his part, fourth-year student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Bashar Sultan, highlighted the importance of the practical workshop in providing students with the opportunity to learn about modern technologies and apply them practically, emphasizing the club's role in providing basic equipment for training.
It is worth noting that the Robotics Club was established at the faculty in 2019 and reactivated its activities at the beginning of 2026, with the aim of developing students' skills in electronics, programming, mechanics, and robot design, and preparing them to participate in local and international competitions.
