Brendan Rodgers, manager of Al-Qadsiah, confirmed that his team is not afraid of Al-Hilal ahead of their match on Friday in Dammam, as part of the 11th round of the Saudi Pro League.
For his part, Rodgers described Al-Hilal as the strongest team he has seen in Saudi Arabia, noting that the opponent is aware of the difficulty of the match. The manager warned of the danger posed by Dutch player Crescencio Samerville in open spaces, emphasizing Al-Hilal's high physical readiness.
Rodgers added that Al-Qadsiah respects everyone and performs strongly in major matches, despite the club previously being in a lower division. He pointed out the need for tactical discipline and high pressing to neutralize Al-Hilal's threat.
He noted that the team had only one day to prepare, with player fitness to be determined on Thursday. He added that participating in multiple competitions causes natural fatigue, especially with the upcoming match against Qatari side Al-Sadd on Monday.
In the same context, Rodgers praised the players' flexibility and the change in formation without affecting performance, commending their fighting efforts until the last minute, as seen in the match against Al-Taawoun.
