The Italian Serie A football team Roma returns to league competition after a catastrophic collapse in the Champions League, when it faces its guest Genoa on Saturday, led by Daniele De Rossi, the team's coach and a legend of the capital's former team.
Roma has maintained a streak of 14 consecutive matches without defeat in various competitions (10 wins and four draws) since last April, but its goal conceded three goals within seven minutes at the end of its European match against Real Madrid and lost 3-4.
The "Giallorossi" must rise quickly, as they know that a win will give them 17 points after seven league matches for the first time since the 2014-2015 season, despite their draw in the last two matches, as they are about to host the Slovakian Slovan Bratislava on Tuesday next in the Champions League.
Gian Piero Gasperini's men, Roma's coach, enter the match with great confidence given a streak of 15 consecutive matches without defeat at home in the league (11 wins and four draws).
Genoa, led by De Rossi, scored two goals within the first 15 minutes and won against Fiorentina 2-1 at the end of last week, achieving its first victory in the league this season.
Upon his return to the Olympic Stadium, De Rossi has the opportunity to lead the "Grifoni" to achieve two consecutive league victories for the first time since last April.
Roma is missing the services of Dutch international striker Donny van de Beek due to suspension.
In the other match, Napoli, which fell to its host Spanish Villarreal 1-3 in the Champions League, visits Venezia, the last-placed team and the only one without any wins in the league so far.
Napoli, the runner-up of last season's champion, seeks to achieve some stability after its loss to Villarreal, which was its fourth in the last seven official matches (two wins and one draw).
